Asian Par-3 Golf Championship

 

 

 

Championship Date: Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th October 2020;

 

Championship Format:

 

  • Individual 36-hole Gross Strokeplay; and  
  • Individual 36-hole Nett Strokeplay (Men’s, Ladies, Junior Boys 16 & Under & Junior Girls 16 & Under Handicap Divisions).

 

Championship Eligibility: Open to any registered Men’s, Ladies, Boys & Girls Amateur Golfer with an updated USGA/HKGA approved Handicap;

Championship Field Size: Maximum 72 competitors;

 

Championship Entries:

 

  • Men’s Division x 24-players;  
  • Ladies Division x 24-players;  
  • Junior Boys Division (16 & Under) x 12-players; and
  • Junior Girls Division (16 & Under) x 12-players.

 

If any division is oversubscribed the Tournament Committee will have discretion to undertake a ballot to determine the final places in the field.  Priority will be given to lower handicaps;

 

Regular Entry Fee: $750 which includes a $200 Breakfast or Lunch Voucher;

 

CWB Members Entry Fee: $450 which includes a $200 Breakfast or Lunch Voucher;

 

Members Practice Round: Anytime and free of charge;

 

Non-Members Practice Round: There will an option for competitors to play a practice round from Monday 5th October to Friday 9th October and a special event Green-Fee for 18-holes is offered at $200 per player;

 

Tee Allocation: Gold, Silver & Bronze (each day);

 

Local Rules: Information will be given on the day regarding R&A rules and local rules;

 

Scoring: All scoring will be conducted through smart-phones, via the Golf Genius Platform. Once a score has been returned, that score shall be final;

 

Shotgun Tee-Times:

 

  • Day 1: Saturday 10th October 2020 (7:30am, 11:00am & 2:30pm); and
  • Day 2: Sunday 11th October 2020 (7:30am & 11:00am).  

 

Tournament Cut (48-players):  

 

  • Top 12 x Gross Men’s 18-hole scores;
  • Top 4 x Nett Men’s 18-hole scores;
  • Top 12 x Gross Ladies 18-hole scores; 
  • Top 4 x Nett Ladies 18-hole scores;
  • Top 6 x Gross Boy’s 18-hole scores;
  • Top 2 x Nett Boy’s 18-hole scores;
  • Top 6 x Gross Girls 18-hole scores; and
  • Top 2 x Nett Girls 18-hole scores.

 

Please note, if need be a countback using the players handicap shall decide any tied positions to determine the cut line;

 

Tournament Tie: In the event of a tie for OVERALL TITLE, a playoff will be conduct on hole #6. If after two play-off holes, a tie has not decided a winner, there shall be an NTP from the Academy Lawn to #6-Green. All other decisions regarding places, shall be decided by count-back - with the second round score being tie breaker, if this does not resolve the tie then the player with the lower handicap is declared the winner;

  • 1st Place Open (Men, Ladies, Boys & Girls) Gross Division;
  • 2nd Place Open (Men, Ladies, Boys & Girls) Gross Division;
  • 3rd Place Open (Men, Ladies, Boys & Girls) Gross Division;
  • 1st Place Men’s Gross Division;
  • 2nd Place Men’s Gross Division;
  • 1st Place Ladies Gross Division;
  • 2nd Place Ladies Gross Division;
  • 1st Place Boys Gross Division;
  • 2nd Place Boys Gross Division;
  • 1st Place Girls Gross Division;
  • 2nd Place Girls Gross Division;
  • 1st Place Men’s Nett Division;
  • 1st Place Ladies Nett Division;
  • 1st Place Boys Nett Division; and
  • 1st Place Girls Nett Division.

 

Please note, only one prize is permitted per person. If a competitor has won two or more prizes, they shall be informed and asked to decide on which prize they prefer. Also, Hole-in-One and NTP’s, are not included and can be won multiple times.   

 

Hole-in-One Prize & NTP’s: There shall be a HK$10,000 Cash Hole-in-One Prize to be awarded on any hole over the two-day event. If there are multiple Hole-in-Ones, all winners will evenly divide the prize pool. Additionally, there will be a Day 1 & 2 NTP competition on offer at various holes (TBC);

 

Tournament Tie: In the event of a tie, a playoff will be conduct on hole #6. If after two play-off holes, a tie has not decided a winner, there shall be an NTP from the Academy Lawn to #6-Green. All other decisions regarding places, shall be decided by count-back;

 

Caddies: The event will be played with no caddies and all players are expected to carry their own clubs or use a trolley. Players are allowed to bring their own pull-buggy, as there are only 10 x complimentary trolleys provided; 

 

Shot Clock & Speed of Play: A timing device on #3, #12 & #15 holes will be in place and any group taking more that 9-minutes to play these particular holes will be penalised 2-strokes per player. Additionally, all players are expected to finish each loop of 6-holes within 55-minutes and penalty shots may be assessed to the whole group if the Tournament Director believes groups have breached any slow play guidelines;

 

Spectators: All Members, Guests and Visiting Spectators are welcome to view any group(s) on both days. However, for safety purposes, Spectators shall not be permitted on the course and need to remain on or near the Academy Lawn;

 

Food & Beverages: All participants shall receive a complimentary $200 F&B voucher, which will be available on the Academy Lawn. Please note, additional top-ups are available to purchase and all players and spectators are encouraged to enjoy the live music, entertainment and putting competitions. Please note, members can simply use their regular account for any purchases made; and

 

Presentation: The prize ceremony will be conducted on the Academy Lawn within 30-minutes after all scores are returned, accepted and finalized. The Winner shall then be declared “The Asian Par-3 Golf Champion”.

 

Final Words: The Asian Par-3 Golf Championships Mission Statement is to captivate the imagination of present and future golfers. By delivering added entertainment in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Additionally, all players and spectators are encouraged to make some noise and not be tied to the traditional principles of the game. In other words, this is a fun, noisy, energetic game of the future.
